Written Statement
I took this photograph of repetition in downtown Lansing. I decided to zoom in, instead of showing the entire building because I liked the reflections in the windows. Also, I didn't want trees or other distracting elements shown. I wanted to focus on the repetition in the windows. I chose portrait orientation, but took the photograph at an angle because I liked the look of the lines. Also, I cropped the image, so it would have symmetric balance.
Written Statement - Part #2
Based on the critique, I decided not to change this photograph or make any improvements. Others agreed with my thoughts on the image and liked the reflections in the windows, as well as the angle of the image. I could use this image as a jumping-off point to create a larger series or project in which I continued the theme of repetition or used the idea of reflections.
